Interview with Republican Party Vice Chair Jacob

Congressional Report Reporter Smith sat down for an interview with the Republican National Committee Vice Chairman Jacob. Here is the transcript from that interview.

Smith: Thanks for sitting down with me to answer some questions on the future of the GOP, Jacob.

Jacob: My pleasure!

Smith: So let’s dive right in. One of the biggest stories this past week was the shift in Senate control from left to right. Your party is now leading what is essentially a coalition Senate majority with the Libertarian Party. What policies are the GOP-LP coalition looking to put forth?

Jacob: Well for starters, the GOP is planning on putting forth an education bill that we believe will also appeal to the LP. I don’t want to get into specifics too much because I don’t know how much the authors want people to know as of now, but I will say that it is something libertarians could definitely support.

Smith: Thank you for that. So election season starts in a little under two weeks. What are some of the GOP’s goals for this cycle?

Jacob: I think our goals are quite simple. There is already a Republican presidential ticket that we believe can draw a lot of support. For the Senate, our goals are to make sure that all of our incumbents seeking re-election win and that we have smooth communication with the LP to avoid any problems that a lack of communication could cause.

Smith: The GOP has been involved in some recent controversies related to Cabinet appointments in the Leah Administration. How does the GOP plan to work with the Leah Administration in the future?

Jacob: I’ll refer you to the deal that the Leah Administration with the GOP regarding the cabinet.

Smith: So to follow up, you don’t believe there’s any lasting effect on the GOP’s relationship with the Adminstration?

Jacob: I believe both sides have mostly moved on from the situation.

Smith: Senator James recently acquired the defunct Atlantic Cable News and re-branded it as American Conservative News. How do you feel this media acquisition will help the GOP moving forward?

Jacob: I believe it was a very smart thing to buy ACN because it will give conservative and libertarian values a louder voice in the media and hopefully we can figure out some ways to use it to our advantage come election season.

Smith: Thanks for that answer. My final question is one I ask to each party chair that I interview. Why should voters support Republican candidates over the other options?

Jacob: The Republicans we plan to run this next election cycle are dedicated, active, and intelligent members. They will always hold true to their values and will work hard to make progress for our nation. Republicans are also always willing to work with people in all parties because our members care more about changing America for the better than pleasing their party.

Smith: Thank you for that answer, and thanks for taking the time to speak with me!

Jacob: Thank you very much!
