This interview was held on July 30, 2020 via text, every answer is printed here as given by the candidate with edits indicated in brackets. The Candidate was asked 12 questions in 2 segments, the order of which he was given free choice.

Political

1. What would be your first priority as President?

Jacob: My first priority will be immigration reform. I plan to make immigration faster, cheaper, and more accessible as our country is built on immigration. Along with that, I plan to secure points of entry to help curtail drug trafficking. (More details on this will be in our platform which will be released within the next few days)

2. What are your views on healthcare?

J: I support the public option that is currently provided on VC. I would look to increase access to innovations such as personal and “portable” health insurance, telemedicine, and health savings accounts (HSAs) owned and controlled by patients.

3. How would you summarize your approach to social issues such as LGBTQ rights, abortion and capital punishment?

J: I fully support the LGBTQ+ community. All people regardless of sexuality, race, nationality, class, etc. should be treated equally. When it comes to abortion, I am pro-life. I support a 12-week cutoff and providing proper medical care to infants who are born alive after an attempted abortion. And capital punishment I only support for the most awful crimes.

4. What is your foreign policy philosophy?

J: I will work hard to minimize China’s encroachment on the free world. They are a threat to freedom all across the world. They are the reason that hundreds of thousands of people have lost their lives to COVID-19 and most of us are now stuck in our homes. They may also potentially militarily take over Taiwan which I will do everything on my power to stop. We will also investigate Chinese technologies, such as TikTok, to make sure that our nation’s citizens are secure and that their information is not in the hands of dangerous people. And overall, working with our allies around the world to ensure stability and keep America’s influence strong.

5. What do you view as a political issue that isn’t discussed enough?

J: The humanitarian crises taking place in Somalia.

6. If you had to summarize what your campaign stands for in one word, what would that be?

J: Freedom.

Personal

1. Why do you think you should be President?

J: For starters, I am a very active and dedicated member of the server and have been here for a very long time. I’ve held many positions during my time in VC including 3 cabinet positions, 2 terms as party leader, 3 terms as deputy party leader, and of course Vice President. I’ve passed legislation that has helped the American people and have lead my party to great victories.

2. How would you describe yourself politically?

J: I am a libertarian conservative. I hold many conservative values and believe in protecting our civil liberties.

3. What do you like to do for fun?

J: I’m a pretty busy person . I like to listen to music (particularly dubstep, house, and classical), play the violin, make electronic music, go on walks, play chess. I also fence but that’s been hard with COVID happening. I also love watching sports. I’m really passionate about my home teams no matter how bad they are . I also travel quite a bit, I have families in many different countries and also just enjoy experiencing new cultures.

4. What is your favorite book?

J: It’s not technically a book but I LOVE Macbeth and Shakespeare in general. The language in his works is just so beautiful and I love studying Shakespeare whenever we get to do that in school.

5. What is your go-to movie or TV series?

J: Brooklyn 99 is probably a favorite of mine. Hence the profile pic lol.

6. What is your running mate’s best quality?

J: His dedication. I don’t think there’s anyone on this server who is more dedicated to what he does no matter what it is. The care he puts into whatever it is he’s doing is remarkable.
