A Closer Look Series: District 2 Senate Race

The race for the Senate has begun! Top contenders from the district have already emerged and announced their campaigns to take Senator James seat. To be clear Senator James is not running for another term. Here are the three contestants for D2:

Starting off with Representative Layla, the Congresswoman is from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She is running as a Socialist and is notably know for producing the following bills: the Clean and Renewable Energy Act, the Fracking Regulation Act and more. She has served as the Secretary of Environment, Secretary of Energy, and former President of the United States. Congresswoman Layla is the presumptive nominee for her party, assuming no one else announces.

Moving on to the next candidate, Acting Secretary of Defense John Galt from Missouri. Sec. Galt is running from the Libertarian side, vying to gain a seat for his party. Mr. Galt is fighting for Libertarian values like Minimum Government and More Freedom for the people. His platform as of now is not publicly available yet, but we expect it come in the following days.

Last but not least, we have, Representative Mleubner. Congressmen Mleubner is from the Lone Star State of Texas! The fellow Congressman pledges to “serve and fulfill” the duties of the office of Senate-D2. Just like his fellow opponent on the Libertarian side, he has yet to publish his platform, but we will keep you updated.

So! What do you think of the candidates of D2? Who do you think will win, and who do you support the most? Well I’ll leave that to you to answer. The Senate seat from D2 is opened for grabs to any party at this point of the race but keep in mind that the Republican Party and the Independents have the majority of voters. 26.7% of the District is registered as a Republican or Independent, 20% as a Democrat, 14.7% as a Libertarian and 12% as a Socialist.

The Republicans have the voter registration advantage but at this point it’s still up for grabs. Will they rally behind their candidate? #Decision2020
