Earlier this week Senator Leah of District 2 sent a letter of resignation to Vice President Mark. Ms. Leah states this in her letter of resignation: “However, I have been battling health challenges for several months…”. We did not know that the Senator was experiencing health issues, but we here at TCR and VC-SPAN wish her and her family well. And since Leah was supposed to be up for re-election, with Election Day in a few days it seems the seat will stay vacant until a new Senator is chosen. There was another resignation earlier this week. House Majority Leader Wonder, in a unannounced press briefing with no questions, he announced that he was going to be resigning from his post as House Majority Leader and Representative from New Jersey effective Wednesday December 9th. Although the reasons were not put in the letter, he states, “…I feel it is better for not only the House of Representatives but for my constituents to have someone new to pass the torch.” It seems like he feels he has not done enough for his constituents, but again, the reasons are unknown. Deputy Majority Leader Chuck will be taking over as Majority Leader until the Democrats hold House leader elections. As you remember, last month President James resigned from his post, claiming to be because of mental health issues. It is also most likely due to be because of his low approval ratings do to little to no executive action taken during the Oil Spill in the Great Lakes. Justice Soro also announced his resignation from the Supreme Court last month for unknown reasons, making four major resignations in the last two months. President Ian has yet to announce a replacement.
Update: At 8:25 pm ET President Ian announced that he will be nominating Secretary of State Callum Wayne to fill Justice Soro’s vacant seat. This has been David with The Congressional Report.
