One of the most joyful events in life is the union of lovers, an event which our Congress has seen only once before when HHS Secretary and Presidential Candidate Vita married his wife Emma last month. But on March 8, 2020, another wedding occurred, one the people of Virtual Congress had been waiting for. After two delays, it was finally happening. President Hull, President Wilson and Majority Whip LaMontagne would be united in holy matrimony.
After an already eventful day which included the resignation of President Wilson and the swearing-in and inauguration of President Hull, the wedding party was elated to be in attendance. The Wedding Band performed hits from When You Say Nothing At All to Put Your Head On My Shoulder and Stairway To Heaven. The finest drinks and food were served and people danced and laughed, reveling in the beautiful Guantanamo Bay Naval Station.
Finally, Reverent John Lilburne arrived to betroth the three gentlemen to each other. In an emotional ceremony, the grooms gave their vows and their memes to each other and were thus joined forever as husbands.
This union is truly unique, not only because it involves three people, but also because it is the first time in history two Presidents have married each other. Witnessing this historic event was truly breathtaking and it was an honor to have attended this wedding.
