Quarantine: How Virtual Congress is experiencing the Coronavirus Pandemic

Coronavirus is an issue on everybody’s mind as the pandemic’s effects grow stronger. Its global impact is felt by members of Virtual Congress, differences based on their state or country of origin. Some members’ home countries are in full lockdown, school, college and work cancelled. Some have had to go into extreme isolation because of health issues. While we are all closed off from the real world, showing solidarity online becomes even more important. In trying times, community needs to stick together, and we have done our best to do so. From gaming to karaoke to extended legislating, Virtual Congress offers a platform to fulfill our collective need for socializing amongst social distancing in real life.

Keeping morale high while staying safe is vital in a crisis, having a place to be scared together and be hopeful. Somewhere to be distracted by better things. While no clear end of this pandemic is in sight, we can hold steadfast that compassion and community on this server seems to have no visible end either.
