Over the course of the Announcement period for the Feb 2020 election, a total of 12 different candidates declared their intention to run, some dropping out, some re-entering again.
On Day 1, January 31, 2020, Congressman Robert Smith (D-AUS), Congressman Antonio (R-ME), Madam Speaker Mac (R-NC), President Starro (D-CA), Congressman Sean (D-NY), Congressman Stalin (R-USSR) and Minority Whip Wilson (R-LA) declared their candidacies, bringing the Democratic field up to 3 candidates and the Republican one to 4.
On Day 2, February 1, 2020, Congressperson Sunita (I-USA), Congresswoman Brisses (R-GB), Representative spiral (I-TX) and Congressman anoneymous (I-BC) enter the race, bringing the number of Republicans running up to 5. Although that only remains briefly, as Minority Whip Wilson (R-LA) drops out after only 1 day of running.
On Day 3 and 4 no one new joined while multiple candidates dropped out, including Congressman Antonio (R-ME), Congresswoman Brisses (R-GB) and Congressman Robert Smith (D-AUS).
Day 5, the last day, brought a major shake up in the Republican primary with the frontrunner, Madam Speaker Mac (R-NC), retiring from Virtual Congress, thus ending her candidacy. To fill the void left by her retirement, Congressman Antonio (R-ME) and Minority Whip Wilson (R-LA) jumped back into the race, while Congressman Josh Hawley (R-MO) newly entered the race, only to drop out mere hours later.
